Amsterdam-based Pastbook sure got a nice gift this Christmas: the photo book startup today announced a 350.000 euro seed investment from Dutch VC Vortex Capital Partners and several angel investors.

Pastbook, founded in 2011 and an alumnus of the Rockstart accelerator 2012 class, enables users to collect photos from social networks and develop personalized albums that can be printed.

With the latest funding round, a total of 800.000 euro is now invested in Pastbook. According to a press release, the startup is now in the run for securing a series A investment.

The startup also launched a new app – My Year – in which users can instantly make a yearly overview from photos they posted on Facebook or Instagram throughout the year.

The popularity of app-to-photo book printing is definitely visible in the Netherlands. Pastbook operates in a market with similiar companies like Bundle (which recently also launched a photo book printing service), ReSnap and Albelli – not to mention all the ‘regular’ photo book printing services.
