Mobile security platform Onegini announced a €1.5M series A investment from The Hatch Firm and InnovationQuarter. The money will be used to scale internationally.

Based in Woerden and Polish city Gdansk, Onegini lets companies develop and market consumer apps safely. With cyber attacks in mind, the startup protects both the data from consumer and client by pro-actively detecting abuse.

Rudy de Back, co-founder and managing partner The Hatch Firm: “Onegini lets companies and governments safely execute their mobile strategy”, he said in a release.

The Hague: security hub

Onegine is also setting up a sales and partnership office in the security hub in The Hague, called The Hague Security Delta. Woerden and Gdansk will continue to be the place where the developers are. “Business-wise, The Hague is a very interesting place for an extra office”, said Nevlynn Janssen, VP global marketing of Onegini to StartupJuncture.

“There are a lot of interesting people around, and for us it’s important to get our software tested by the top security startups in that area.” HackerOne is one of the high profile companies based in The Hague.

For international expansion, the startup is focussing on the Benelux area, Germany, the UK and the US. “But we expect the biggest growth with partnerships, for instance with system integrators”, told Janssen.
